XL Express manages a large national logistics network and prides themselves on creating customer-focused solutions. They have a significant fleet of vehicles comprising 100 trailers, 30-40 prime movers and between 350-400 delivery vehicles supported by numerous depots Australia-wide.
XL Express commissioned a project to upgrade their PDA handset technology that drivers use in all facets of delivery operations.

The Challenge
The incumbent PDA devices had served well across almost a decade, however, the hardware was fast becoming incompatible with modern tech requirements. XL Express was looking to engage an agency to augment with their current inhouse team on producing the operating system for the new PDA device fleet. As the handsets are specifically designed for the logistics industry our team were required to familiarise themselves with the device specs (Android Package Kit) and capabilities before moving into system design. XL Express wanted to use this opportunity to include new features- such as simple authentication methods, whilst we were designing the new operating system.
The Solution
We worked closely with the XL Express project team to develop the scope and assign deliverables to each party. TAT were required to provide the API architecture requirements with XL Express building the API using inhouse resources- largely due to their familiarity with their own software.
TAT completed to OS build and facilitating all testing prior to delivery to the client for acceptance testing.
